Zine นี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากตำราดูแมวสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา ซึ่งแบ่งลักษณะแมวว่าให้คุณหรือโทษแก่ผู้เลี้ยง การมองแมวผ่านกรอบนี้ ทำให้แมวที่ลายไม่สมบูรณ์ หรือพิการ ถูกมองว่าควรหลีกเลี่ยง

ศิลปินจึงได้รวบรวมแมวทุกลักษณะเพื่อบอกว่าแมวทุกตัวควรถูกรับเลี้ยง มีที่พักอาศัยที่เหมาะสม ได้รับการดูแลเมื่อเจ็บป่วยและสมควรได้รับความรักไม่แตกต่างกัน

Vilara: The Treatise of Cat Compassion

This zine is inspired by an Ayutthaya-era manuscript that classified cats as “auspicious” or “inauspicious” for their owners. Viewing cats through this lens once meant that those with imperfect markings or disabilities were often overlooked.

The artist has gathered cats of all kinds to show that every cat deserves a home, proper care when ill, and above all, love.

Designed like a traditional Thai palm-leaf manuscript, the zine unfolds over 16 pages, stretching more than 1.6 meters in length.
